Animation – Case Studies
We interviewed two of the students to see how they’ve found the
workshops.
Q - Did you have any experience of filming before you started this
course?
Simon
"I’ve only a little bit of experience and that was when I
was at school where we used toy figures – this is the first time
I’ve used plasticine and clay so its been totally different."

Q - Why did you do this course?
Simon
"I applied to the course as I wanted to get more experience and
also due to the fact that the course is Deaf led."

Q - What was the most enjoyable thing about it?
Simon
"Meeting other Deaf people, new faces, working together as a team – it’s
been lovely. "

Victoria
"Learning about animation, how you make a piece of animation and
also being able to create a story – I found that quite exciting.
I really enjoyed myself."

Q - Did you find anything difficult?
Victoria
"I think its making things, and trying to be creative. Also, thinking
about the story and how you fit it all in, but towards the end it was
good."

Q - What are you next career steps?
Simon
"I don’t know what the future holds for me - I might be offered
something, I might be successful applying to something linked to animation.
I don’t know what’s going to happen."

Q - Did you enjoy it?
Simon
Yes, it’s been lovely, working with Deaf people. Normally courses
you go on, tends to be for hearing people, but that fact that everyone
here is Deaf is wonderful.
